Hello readers! I can’t believe Christmas is just 7 days away. The month of December has flown by so fast! I sure do hope all of you are staying warm inside on this arctic cold Sunday. Grab yourselves some hot chocolate, throw on your long fuzzy socks, and sit back and enjoy this merry holiday blog!
Last week I gave ya’ll some ideas for how to dress for holiday parties. Today, I am continuing on with the holiday theme and writing about holiday makeup! The fabulous and talented Erika Klein did my makeup for this post and I absolutely LOVED it. For Christmas parties and New Year’s celebrations, it’s fun to kick it up a notch and go for a bolder look.
Red and green are conceivably the official colors of Christmas—glimmering green Christmas trees, wreaths, and mistletoe; shining red ornaments and red poinsettias; why not incorporate Christmas colors into your Holiday makeup? That’s just what Erika did with my makeup. On my eyes she did red eye shadow topped with red glitter, painted black liquid eyeliner, and she completed my eyes with flirty false lashes. Erika chose a nude pink lip color for my lips, so that my eyes were really the focal point on this look.
Erika also did some contouring, which was quite exciting for me—as I don’t know how to contour and have never had contouring done on me before! I do have to say that contouring really makes you pop in pictures, so if you have a lot of photo ops this holiday season then it’s a good choice to consider.
While taking these pictures, my friend Danielle’s baby kitten Elsa wanted to make an appearance! How could I say no to this cutie?
I tried giving her a kiss but the red ornament looked too appetizing and won over her attention. Oh little Elsa!
I paired my holiday makeup with a gold and nude dress. It was perfect because the makeup added a pop of color to my look. It’s fun to go with color on your eyes, especially when your outfit is a neutral tone. My eyes look so awesome next to the red ornaments on the tree!
This makeup is foolproof, it even passed the selfie test.
